At Xylem, you will have the opportunity to solve water by participating in our paid Volunteer Program, Xylem Watermark!THE ROLE - TheElectrical Engineer position is responsible for the sustaining engineering, design, development, and verification ofYSI sensors and measurement instruments.
This role reports to the Engineering Manager, Business Continuity & Improvements (BC&I)CORE RESPONSIBILITIES - oEvaluate field failures, warranty claims, or issues with current product performance for improvement and/or cost reduction oProvide electrical engineering expertise to manufacturing to help solve production and product problems.
oProvide electrical engineering expertise to Quality to help solve product field problems.
oProvide electrical engineering expertise to Purchasing to assist in the procurement of electronic components.
oDesign and develop analog and digital embedded electronic circuits to meet performance, cost, assembly, test, packaging, and project schedule objectives for assigned projects.
oEnter schematics into CAD system and/or support PCB design efforts by others.
oUpdate PCB drawings and/or supervise the electrical draftsman to revise drawings.
oCreate, submit, and execute ECO's (Engineering Change Orders) using Oracle.
oSpecify and source prototype components, assist with prototype assembly, debug prototype assemblies.
oSupport and conduct testing activities to verify performance versus requirements of components and systems developed.
oDocument the concepts, design, testing, and analysis for electronic circuits developed.
Familiar with all aspects of a PCB drawing package (BOM's, Gerber Files, Schematics).
QUALIFICATIONS - oA B.
S.
degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2-3 years of analog and digital electronic (embedded system) design.
oFamiliarity with EMC (electro-magnetic compatibility) design and testing practices desirable.
oAbility to design using electronic CAD software tools for schematic design desirable.
Experience with Altium is preferred.
oKnowledge and experience with LabView a bonus.
oThe ability to evaluate and make recommendations on cost control, reliability and manufacturability issues while maintaining aggressive development schedules.
oExcellent testing and troubleshooting skills oThe ability and desire to work in a fast-paced team environment, working with a cross functional team (e.
g.
electrical, firmware, mechanical and system test engineers) to create a fully functional system oThe desire and ability to learn new tools and design techniques.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Working Conditions:
oMinimum 8 hours/day oStandard weekly job hours:
40 hours o5-10% travel oMostly general office environment but will also involve some working in Laboratory and Factory floor locations.
oRegularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility oMust be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
oYSI offers a flexible work environment where employees are allowed to work both remotely and on-site.
Employees may work from home with their managers permission but must come on site when requested and required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
